Go mobile without losing control. The MPK mini is an ultra-compact keyboard controller designed for the traveling musician and the desktop producer. With an array of hardware controls, MPK mini lets you record, compose, and perform with virtual instruments, effect plugins, and DAWs whenever inspiration strikes. It features 25 velocity-sensitive synth-action keys, a 4-way thumbstick for dynamic pitch and modulation manipulation, 8 backlit velocity-sensitive MPC-style pads, and 8 assignable Q-Link knobs. Plus, two banks expand the number of MPC-style pads to 16 for extended creative capabilities.
MPK mini includes all the essentials for quickly laying down and expanding upon your musical ideas. Dedicated Octave Up and Down buttons increase the keyboard to the full melodic range, and a sustain pedal input is built in for expressive playing and recording. An onboard arpeggiator with adjustable resolution, range, and modes makes it easy to create intricate melodic lines with little effort. Plus, MPC Note Repeat and Full Level allow users to access genuine technologies from Akai Professional's line of MPC workstations.
For maximum portability, MPK mini requires no software drivers or external power adapter for operation. It supports plug-and-play connectivity, features USB-MIDI, and powers up with a single USB connection to your Mac or PC. Four memory banks enable you to store hardware/software presets for quick and easy setting up of your computer and MPK mini.
MPK mini comes bundled with professional production software and virtual instruments for immediate music creation. Hybrid 3, by AIR Music Tech, is a high-definition synthesizer that can create anything from fat, retro synth sounds to edgy modern leads and everything in between. SONiVOX's Wobble is an electronic music grime synthesizer that features two independent channels of spectral morphing synthesis with harmonic controls, individual filtering, and discrete LFO controls. MPC Essentials, a groove/beat production and sample-triggering software, lets producers and musicians incorporate genuine MPC workflow into their DAW of choice and extends the power of MPK mini by adding up to 8 pad banks and 4 samples and insert effects per pad. MPC Essentials also runs in standalone mode, so you can start making music without a DAW.

Mini controller with maximum functionality.
Compact and Versatile is what describes this Akai midi controller. Provides all the essentials to create beats whether you are a pro or just a beginner getting your foot in the door! The 8 pads included are extremely sensitive which provides a quick response. 25 keys is fine especially for it being a mini controller, the only minor complaint I have about it are the small keys. Can create some tension in your arms when you using for a period of time, other than that I am satisfied!
This piece is small and portable. Perfect for small desks or travel. 25 Keys, pads and rotary knobs - and some other futuristic joystick for driving your spaceship back home.
25 keys, 8 MPC-style pads, 8 MIDI-assignable knobs, on-board arpeggiator, & a joystick for X-Y manipulation all in one very portable package.
An excellent assistant control surface in the studio and on the go.
It's really practical and fun to use, pads are good keys are ok, you can get a lot more of it when used with the midi editor included, the only reason why I give it 4 stars is because 2 keys started to fail on me so I had to open the thing to clean it up, easy fix but not everyone would do it.
Never Underestimate The Akai MPK Mini! Despite Its Small Size, It Potential Lies Within What You Can Do With It. In Addition The Arpeggiator That Came With It Is Even A Plus Sign Too. Because You Can Rarely Find One Of This In A Budget MIDI Keyboard Like This
With a keyboard that can cover all octtaves and 8 launchpads for drums and sfx, this midi controller has everything you need, granted not in the most convenient way but for the price it's fantastic
This MIDI keyboard is awesome. Perfect for someone just starting out and learning, or an advanced pro musician. I know I will be using mine for a long time.
I was very hasty about buying this when I first started making music. Realized this piece of equipment was mainly used for live music making / 'beat making' if you will. However, it is a good piano for travel, it fits right into any backpack (that is if you have the space.) Overall, pretty decent piano.
The MPK Mini MKII is worlds apart from the MKI and is a lot better. The USB cable is now full sized rather than Micro USB, and there is now a Sustain Pedal input for the serious keyboard players. It even comes with more software including Sonivox Wobble and Air! Hybrid 3.
It has a little bit of everything which is exactly what's needed in a portable setup. Very easy to use. My gripe with it is that the keys don't have a terribly good feeling, but I doubt you can find better keys at this level.
I love this Midi Keyboard. Especially the integration for Live 10 with the Drum Rack Plugin. Somehow I always have a weird pre-delay in it. Also the keys are kind of small and hard to regulate. So I only use it for finding quick melodies.
