Critic Reviews

Suhr Reactive Load/IR Review | GuitarPlayer

guitarplayer.com

The Suhr Reactive Load/IR is praised for its excellent tone and build quality, offering a realistic playing feel and impressive sound at a reasonable price. It successfully bridges the gap between analog and digital, thanks to high-quality impulse responses and a well-designed cabinet simulator. However, it lacks a direct digital recording connection and preset editing software, which could deter some users seeking these features. Overall, the unit is a strong contender in the world of speaker simulators, providing plenty of functionality and versatility for both studio and live settings.

Make it easy

It’s enough of a wrestle recording guitars - new strings, intonation, pedals, amp etc. it’s a lot to think about.

So when it’s time to hit record you need something that Does. The Job. This is expensive no doubt, but i would not be without it.

If you have a sound isolated studio and a ton of cabs and mics then move along, nothing to see here.

For everyone else, get this and redwirez MixIR and take the guesswork out.

Amazing, worth every penny

When you bowl up to the studio with one of these, expect raised engineer eyebrows - until they hear it in action.

I haven’t A/B’d it with anything, i just hit my guitar and it sounds wonderful, that’s all I know - full, dynamic, responsive.

It’s big and heavy. It’s on my modified pedal board (yes!) and it comes everywhere with me. I wouldn’t be without it.

So glad I didn’t cheap out on this critical part of the signal chain.

Lifesaver

Not only will it save me money on microphones and cabinets, but it'll keep my ex-special forces neighbor happy. Definitely a buy.
