Description

Discover the Takamine F-349, an acoustic guitar that masterfully combines vintage charm with enduring craftsmanship. Hailing from an era where Takamine drew inspiration from Martin's iconic designs, this steel-string acoustic is a testament to meticulous artistry and attention to detail. The guitar's all-mahogany body design—comprising top, back, sides, and neck—imbues it with a warm, resonant tone that's both rich and inviting. The rosewood fingerboard adds a touch of elegance and enhances playability, making every chord and note a smooth experience.

Though it's a vintage piece, this guitar holds its own with excellent playability and sound quality. It may show signs of cosmetic wear, but rest assured, these are mere badges of its musical journey and do not compromise its performance. The frets, while worn, still allow for clarity and resonance, ensuring that your melodies ring true across the fretboard.

Whether you're an experienced player seeking a reliable workhorse or a collector with an eye for classic design, the Takamine F-349 offers a compelling blend of history and functionality. With no electronics onboard, this guitar is all about pure, unadulterated acoustic sound—ideal for those who value authenticity in every strum and pick.

Rex and the Bass: 1981 Takamine F-349 Acoustic Guitar Review

rexbass.com

The 1981 Takamine F-349 is a delightful Martin D-17 clone offering impressive craftsmanship and tone at a budget-friendly price. With its mahogany dreadnought body and vintage aesthetic, this guitar provides a sweet, mellow sound and excellent playability, making it a fantastic choice for beginners or as a loaner. While it may not be the loudest, its balanced volume and tolerance for mis-fretting are commendable. However, potential buyers should inspect for common aging issues like bridge lift and fret wear. Overall, this Takamine is a great value, especially for those seeking a durable acoustic guitar with vintage charm.

Great Guitar

Supposed to be the Martin D17 lawsuit era equivalent. I agree. It sounds boomy and feels great to play.
