Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Taylor 210e.

Setup and maintenance

  • Owners recommend using Oasis humidifiers in winter as they can be refilled, unlike D'Addario humidipaks that may dry out.

    Source
  • It's possible to "refresh" D'Addario humidipaks by placing them in a sealed container with water to reabsorb moisture.

    Source
  • Some owners ensure their Taylor 210e is insured through renters or homeowners insurance due to its asset value.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The ES2 system's battery drains faster than expected, so keeping an extra 9v battery in the case is advised.

    Source
  • The Deluxe model includes a hardshell case, ES2 pickup system, and diamond inlays, distinguishing it from the standard model which features the EST system and dot inlays.

    Source

User experience

  • The guitar is highly recommended by owners for its satisfaction with playability and appearance, especially the sunburst finish.

    Source
  • A user described the Taylor 210e as having a bright, full sound typical of Taylor but with added low-end depth from its dreadnought body.

    Source
  • A former Guitar Center employee highlighted the 210 series as offering the best value compared to the 110 series, making it a worthwhile investment.

    Source
  • Some users find smaller guitars provide new playing experiences, but they don't replicate the dreadnought's distinctive capabilities.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • Guitar Center price matches can be negotiated, but ensure you compare identical models since upgrades like the ES2 system and hardshell case affect pricing.

    Source
  • It's often more profitable to sell a Taylor 210e privately rather than trading it in, as trade-in offers tend to be lower.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Owners note the 200-300 series Taylors feel better than some higher-end models, offering simplicity and preferred playability for some users.

    Source
  • Owners advise trying Taylor's grand pacific shape, like the 117 or 217, for a smaller feel while maintaining dreadnought characteristics.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The guitar is noted to excel in strumming contexts, though considered less ideal for fingerstyle by some players.

    Source
  • The 210e is recommended as a travel guitar, as its construction is more resilient compared to the solid wood 400 series.

Critic Reviews

Taylor 210E review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Taylor 210e offers undeniable value with an excellent output balance and a revamped design at a more affordable price. However, players may find the sound to be a bit hard-edged without proper EQ adjustments, potentially limiting its versatility. While it excels in clarity and punch, some may prefer a warmer tone. Overall, it's a solid choice for entry-level players, but those seeking nuanced sound may need to adjust their expectations.

Great workhorse guitar

Rich deep tone and built to last. Mine is a USA build (before the model was moved to Mexico for manufacturing). It’s equipped with the ES2 and has around 15 years of playing time on it. Little fret or fretboard signs of wear despite being used as my primary worship leading guitar. Extremely impressed. Paired with a TC Electronic BodyRez and this sound rich and articulate without being too bright. A delight to play. Still in good condition.
