Valeton GP‑50: The Ultimate "All-in-One" Pedal that will Elevate Your Rig” | Guitar Thrills Magazine

guitarthrills.com

The Valeton GP-50 is a smart blend of portability and functionality, making it a compelling choice for guitarists on the go. Its expanded interface, with more controls and a larger screen, significantly enhances usability over its predecessor, the GP-5. The dual footswitches and built-in looper are standout features, catering well to live performers and those who value convenience without sacrificing versatility. However, while the form factor and ergonomic improvements are notable, the sound engine remains largely unchanged from the GP-5, meaning tonal enhancements might not be groundbreaking. For players prioritizing top-tier studio-quality sound, exploring higher-end alternatives is advisable. Nonetheless, the GP-50 offers excellent value as a multifunctional, compact rig, ideal for quick setups in various settings.

Every legit gigging musician needs to own one

Great pedal! I own the GP-200 which is awesome! I was curious about the GP-5 but saw Valeton released a 50 which has a bigger screen, better interface and extra footswitch. It sounds awesome, the ability to load .nam profiles and IR's are legit great! Kinda wish I could mix and match IR's with .nam files, but this little guy only allows you to load one or the other. So if you use a .nam capture it has to be one that has the cab cooked into it. No biggie though, the effects are good and useable, and the interface is quick and easy to get up and running. For $120 bucks, this thing is a whole ass rig that can sound just as good as anything on the market, and it's unbeatable for the price. It's the ultimate "save the gig backup rig" and an unbeatable practice tool. The Battery is super clutch too. Just an all around great pedal at a price any musician can afford. It's also a substantial pedal, feels super professional. has a drum machine and looper too, other plusses for being a great practice tool. Also the stock guitar models aren't bad at all, the stock snaptone captures in the pedal are legit great too. It's wild how much bang for the buck you get with this pedal. You can rearrange your pedal chain, and the interface is actually easy to learn. I barely scratched the surface with this pedal, but I can tell you it's super worth it no matter what level player you are. Even if you don't have an amp, this thing has a headphone out and Midi out for direct recording. It's a must buy for me and I strongly encourage just about every working guitarist to pick this guy up.
