Voodoo Lab Wahzoo Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Voodoo Lab Wahzoo is a wah pedal enthusiast's dream, offering versatility with three distinct modes: Vintage, Auto Wah, and Step Wah. Its standout feature is the wide array of tonal options, capturing the classic Clyde McCoy sound while adding modern functionality. The Auto Wah mode is perfect for stage freedom, and the Step Wah introduces rhythmic innovations reminiscent of a synthesizer arpeggiator. True bypass and a Tap Tempo feature enhance its usability for both studio and live settings. However, its complexity may deter those who prefer a straightforward, traditional wah pedal experience. Overall, the Wahzoo is celebrated for its adaptability and quality, making it a strong contender for those seeking a multi-faceted wah solution.

The Voodoo Lab Wahzoo is a wah pedal heavyweight, combining vintage charm with modern versatility. It offers three modes—traditional, auto, and programmable step wah—making it incredibly adaptable. Its robust construction, smooth sound, and innovative features like true bypass and a unique bypass switch enhance its appeal. While the internal trim pot adjustment might be cumbersome for some, the pedal's overall performance, including excellent tone and ease of use, sets a new standard for wah pedals. At $280, it delivers impressive value, living up to its claim as possibly the last wah pedal you'll ever need.

All the wah you could want

Excellent vintage and modern voicings, auto-way and programmable position selection (like a sweep). Normally I use it on vintage (OK I always do), and my favorite thing is that the on/off button is to the side of the pedal - uses more space, but I prefer it this way.
