A surprisingly versatile beginner guitar that delivered some of the best tones I've ever achieved.

Even though the Yamaha Pacifica 012 is often considered an entry-level guitar, some of the best guitar tones I've ever achieved came from a well-set-up Pacifica. It proved to be far more capable than its price tag would suggest.

The neck is comfortable, the pickups are surprisingly decent, and the HSS configuration makes it versatile enough to cover a wide range of styles. I used it for everything from classic rock and Visual Kei-inspired tones, such as Buck-Tick, to heavier music in lower tunings like Drop A and Drop B, including tones inspired by DOGMA by The GazettE.

This was my very first guitar, so it holds a great deal of sentimental value. It was also the guitar I used during my first live performances with ESTHER XIII, as well as during a brief period playing in a Bon Jovi tribute project.

My only complaint is the finish durability. Over time, the paint developed some cracks in a few areas. This may have been influenced by how the guitar was stored and the frequent climate changes where I live, but it is still worth mentioning.

Overall, the Pacifica 012 exceeded my expectations and remains one of the guitars I look back on most fondly.

My first ever electric guitar

I'm very grateful with this guitar, i learned everything about tone with this guitar, easy to use but very bright tones and sometimes it gets very annoying but it works if you eq your amp right, a very solid start.

Let me preface this by saying i’m not a guitarist by any means. I am a bassist, so maybe i just suck at guitar. It’s great for recording and that sort of thing, but I would never use this live.

Best beginner electric axe out there

This was my first guitar and I still play it frequently, despite having a whole squad of others by now. The neck feels great and is pretty slim, so it's suitable for smaller hands and fingers. The pickups sound great as well, and it also may be my lightest electric guitar. Overall a great axe for beginners that will help them learn the basics but last them for a long time.

Good, still rough around edges

Pretty good beginner to intermediate guitar! My only qualm with it is that high notes tend to cause the lower notes to ring out, causing a weird hum noise. But, I assume with some tinkering that problem can be fixed! Good for multiple genres.

This guitar is a good choice for a beginner guitarist. For such a price, you are unlikely to find a more acceptable option for learning to play the guitar. But for more serious things, this guitar is not enough. 7.5/10

Great guitar for beginners.

It was my first guitar, bought like 8 years ago, but I still play it regularly. It plays so well that it's hard to believe what it costs. Definetely recommended for every beginner guitarist.

Wonderful for the price

I bought it to be a practice guitar, for transport, something cheap that can take hits and scratches, I take it to my office, to the park, everywhere, for the price I have paid for it, it is too good, it has a very clean sound, quite loud, the pickups are ceramic and it has a good appearance.
