The Yamaha SG-1300T is a visually stunning instrument with its iconic SG shape and gold-plated hardware, but its tremolo system is a mixed bag. The locking tremolo unit aims to reduce tuning drift, and while the fine-tuning adjustments are cleverly designed, they can be fiddly and sensitive to touch. This sensitivity can lead to unexpected pitch changes if you're used to resting your hand on the bridge. Soundwise, the SG-1300T offers smooth, mellow tones with impressive sustain on the lower strings, but rock players might find it lacking in treble. It handles well for linear runs, thanks to a consistent neck profile, but the overall tonal range could limit its versatility. For those seeking a guitar with a unique aesthetic and specific sound, it could fit the bill, but it may not satisfy everyone.

In this image Kjartan Sveinsson can be seen using a Yamaha SG-1300T guitar. In a November 2005 Future Music article Kjartan confirms the use of the guitar on the album "Takk...".

Well, i use a Yamaha SG1300. I had an SG2000, but it was stolen from me. It sounds really big and it's good to play. Those guitars made in the 70s are really good. And they're completely comparable to the Gibsons and all those.
