This speaker is known for its distinctive mid-range punch and warm tonal quality, making it ideal for classic rock, blues, and even modern genres that benefit from a retro sound. The 70's era Marshall 1960BX 4x12" cabinets as used by Euronymous were loaded with the Celestion G12M T1221 Blackback speakers instead of the G12M Greenback speakers. Those Blackback speakers used to use new 1777 Kurt Mueller cones instead of the old 102 003 Pulsonic cones. These Celestion G12M T1221 Blackback speakers had more upper mids and treble than the old Greenback speakers.
