Inspired by one of his favorite guitars, the Gibson Trini Lopez, Dave Grohl also uses the Gibson DG-335 Electric Guitar which comes in a Pelham Blue color. Dave bought his first Trini Lopez from me ~ just mentioning that for fun.
In the BAE AUDIO YouTube video titled "Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins Song Demo," Taylor Hawkins is seen with a Gibson DG-335 in the background.
In his YouTube video titled "5 Minute Lessons, by Pete Thorn #1 'Break Out Of the Blues Box,'" Pete Thorn plays a Gibson DG-335.
In this photo and in most/all live performances, he plays a white DG 335, as this is his go-to guitar. **Edit, he actually uses a 2006 Gibson Custom ES-335 Diamond (limited Run). The Dave Grohl guitar wasn't released until around 2010 I believe. Also, check the headstock. The 2006 features a standard headstock versus the Trini Lopez style headstock of the Dave Grohl. He uses this guitar in both white and Pelham Blue, which is gorgeous.
The picture above is the Dave Grohl DG-335 instead of the ES-335 Diamond.
During the "American Living Unstoppable Tour" conducted by Rascal Flatts from the summer of 2009 to early 2010, Joe Don Rooney was observed utilizing the Gibson Inspired By Dave Grohl DG-335 Electric Guitar. This particular instrument was prominently featured during the encore performances, specifically when the band covered "Revolution" by The Beatles and occasionally for their rendition of "Life is a Highway." The guitar was tuned a half step down from standard tuning for these performances. Notably, this guitar was not used by Rooney in subsequent Rascal Flatts tours following the conclusion of the "Unstoppable Tour." This information is corroborated by a video entitled "Rascal Flatts - Life is a Highway - Live in Portland, OR (Unstoppable Tour) [HD]," uploaded by the user rbelloq on YouTube, showcasing the band's final night of the tour where the Gibson DG-335 was in use.
