Description

Disambiguation is our design that combines two great pedals in a single box - Rat and Big Muff. We replaced the Big Muff input/gain stage with a Rat circuit, giving a great mid hump. The output stage was replaced by J-FET based one. The circuit gives you the character of Rat running into Big Muff. The pedal utilizes NOS Soviet KT3201EM transistors plus KD521A diodes (like vintage Red Army Big Muff) and UD1408A (Soviet clone of LM308 chip, made by Kvazar in Kyiv) op-amp.

Controls:

Distortion - gain control. Tone - classic Big Muff tone stack, left side more bass, right side more treble. Volume - effect output level.

Guitar Pedal X - GPX Blog - Drunk Beaver's Disambiguation Distortion is a really cool confection of Rat Circuit inserted into a Muff Gain Stage

guitarpedalx.com

Drunk Beaver's Disambiguation Distortion is a fascinating blend of Rat and Muff circuits, offering a unique tonal palette with incredible sustain. The pedal's design allows for easy adjustments, delivering a distinct sound that falls between the two iconic effects. However, players must be cautious with gain settings, as too much can lead to muddiness. The aesthetics are a bonus, with a sleek green enclosure and quality knobs. While it may not fully capture the best of each circuit separately, its execution is still impressive enough to earn a solid spot in any pedal collection.
