The input jack on the Bigsby model is placed on the front, potentially obstructing the tremolo arm; a right angle 1/4" adapter is recommended to solve this.

Good tone comes at a price...
This is the second electric that I've gotten, and I've gotta say it's fantastic: after you tweak it to your standards. If you want a mellow, jazzy tone, you can get this guitar with out any mods and walk away happy. But do NOT expect a big rock tone out of this guy: even after I put Seymour Duncan Alnico IIs in for the P-90-typethings that are in there already, it still doesn't quite have the bright rock tone I thought it would. It turns out I can manipulate the guitar to make some really neat Homme-esque sounds, but if you want a heavier tone, I would replace some of the electronics to handle higher voltages to avoid a thin sound with distortion. Overall, great guitar, and I'm happy I put extra money into it to get a sound that I originally wasn't looking for, but am satisfied with now.

its the rare 335 type guitar that's in your face like an LP... just the construction of them.... the maple necked ones are typically a little more brash... I mean, there are exceptions, but tis not a naturally in your face sound like an SG or anything -- the reallyold ones can be reasonably rockin for a variety of reasons.... di you change your potentiometers when changing pickups? you may not have proper 500K audio pots in there and that will effect the interaction of the pickup with the amp even with all pots at 10.... you might want to address the bridge and saddles too if you want to get near the slightly more in your face vintage 335 tone. Also, the more rckin' 335s of yore often have alnico IV or V pickups... strng magnets but with vintage wire turn count for low DCR ratings, coils often very mismatched in PAF loaded examples.
