Ed's Mod Custom Wah
It had to have the richest, most resonant vintage sound, and within this type of sound, to have great features and flexibility. So it goes back to the classic vox circuit, finely tuned, gains changed a bit, a little fatter too. Carefully selected silicon transistors gives it dynamics and tone while the Whipple inductor is used for it’s great sound and strong resonance. ICAR tapper heavy duty potentiometer is used for the right feel, and to further tweak the filter’s transition you can use the Sweep knob, from gradual to fast opening. The low midrange and body can be adjusted by the Bass knob, and the overall volume with (10% boost when maxed) can be controlled by the Volume knob. Finally, the Voice 3 position mini toggle switch changes the main sound from Funk (thin and crispy) to Original and to FAT (bass guitar or heavy downtuned guitar). It’s circuitry includes a “fuzz friendly” output buffer so any fuzz pedal and high gain distortion will work nicely after the Custom Wah.
