Great after upgrades

The build quality of this instrument is very good, resulting in great playability. But the stock electronics are kind of useless. The stock P90s are almost 50 per cent overwound at 11.5 Kohms; on an archtop that's a recipe for boominess and feedback. The wiring uses really bad, long coaxial wire, with a total capacitance reading of 900 pF (!). I changed the entire wiring and upgraded with good P90s in the middle and bridge positions (8 Kohms) and a custom "staple" p90 in the neck position (A4 for the four lowest strings, A2 for the top E and A3 for the B string, this to balance the response of a flatwound set with wound 3rd string). The awful wire was replaced with thin, single wire, giving a total capacitance of only 240 pF. I also swapped the Tune-O-Matic for a Stewmac all-rosewood bridge, resulting in a much airier treble response, without the huge low-treble resonant spike. Now this guitar really sings!
