Description
Step back in time with the Fender Custom Shop 1950 Vintage Custom Pine Esquire, a meticulous re-creation of the guitar that started it all. This instrument captures the essence of Fender's inaugural solid-body electric guitar, with a single-pickup pine body that offers a lightweight yet resonant playing experience. With its hand-wound '50–'51 Blackguard pickup, this Esquire delivers the classic tone that defined a generation.
The guitar's slightly thinner (1.5") laminated pine body is paired with a one-piece rift-sawn maple neck, known for its stability and resistance to warping. The neck features a 1950 Esquire profile with no truss rod, and a vintage compound radius fingerboard (7.25"-9.5") with 21 medium vintage frets, offering comfort and playability. The NOS flash-coat nitrocellulose lacquer finish gives it the look and feel of a cherished classic, while Closet Classic hardware adds a touch of gentle aging.
With full-throttle handwired Esquire electronics and a 3-position switch, this guitar offers versatile tonal options: Position 1 provides volume and tone control, Position 2 gives you volume only, and Position 3 sends the pickup straight to output for a raw, unfiltered sound. Other features include a single-ply eggshell pickguard, a 1950 Esquire bridge with original steel saddles, and vintage-style tuning machines.
