Description
The Fender Custom Shop John 5 Telecaster is a meticulously crafted instrument that marries classic Telecaster aesthetics with modern, high-octane performance. Designed for the iconic guitarist John 5, known for his work with Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, this guitar is a powerhouse of sound and playability. Its select ash body is adorned with a distinctive 1-ply chrome pickguard, offering a sleek and striking visual statement. The maple neck boasts a comfortable modern C-shape profile, while the 12-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 frets provide a smooth playing experience, ideal for both intricate solos and aggressive riffs.
The guitar's sonic capabilities are driven by a potent combination of pickups. The Fender Enforcer humbucker at the bridge delivers a powerful, high-output tone with enhanced midrange and treble, perfect for heavy rock and metal. Meanwhile, the Custom Shop Twisted Tele single-coil pickup at the neck produces bright, clear tones with rich midrange, offering versatility across genres. A 6-saddle American Tele bridge and deluxe die-cast tuning machines ensure rock-solid stability and precise intonation.
This Telecaster isn't just about performance; it also comes with premium extras including a deluxe hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity, making it a worthy addition to any guitarist's collection. John 5 and Fender have produced a Custom John 5 Telecaster. It’s a “double humbucker rosewood Tele,” according to John 5 in this Premier Guitar Rig Rundown video at (0:23). “The white stripe here from the fender custom Teles and stuff like that back in the ’60s, and you know, [it’s a] great guitar,” John 5 says. The “toggle switch is moved up here for the little movement stuff, and regular Tele headstock, not like my models that I usually have.”
