Critic Reviews

The good and the bad news about Fender's new Heritage Series guitars | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Fender's Made in Japan Heritage '60s Telecaster Custom brings authentic vintage specs and quality at an appealing price point, making it an ideal choice for nostalgic players. With features like a nitrocellulose lacquer finish and Premium Vintage-Style pickups, it delivers the classic Fender sound. However, the catch is availability, as these guitars are exclusively offered in Japan, limiting access for many potential buyers. While the craftsmanship and attention to detail are commendable, the frustration of geographic restrictions tempers the excitement surrounding this release. Overall, it's a tantalizing option for serious collectors, but practicality may hinder broader appeal.

Like 35 years ago I had a late 80s/early 90s Japanese Tele that looked exactly like this, same binding, finish, neck. I think Fender solid it as the "'62 Reissue" at the time. Same guitar?
