Introducing the Friedman Runt 20 Head, a compact and versatile 20-watt amplifier that delivers Friedman's legendary tone with a fraction of the size. This robust two-channel amp is the perfect companion for musicians who crave for that classic rock to heavy metal sound. The power section is driven by two EL84s, while the preamp is equipped with three 12AX7s.

On one hand, the clean channel offers a simple volume knob and a three-position bright switch that can give you anything from singing cleans to a slightly broken-up tone. On the other hand, the overdrive channel, the heart and soul of the Runt-20, lets you go from classic rock to all-out assault at the twist of a dial.

The Runt-20 stands out with its custom transformers and clean signal path, which deliver the tight bottom end and midrange that is typically found in much higher wattage amps. It's also the first amp that Dave Friedman has ever made with an internal load and XLR cab simulated output. This means you can play "silently" without having a speaker cabinet connected. This amp also takes pedals well and loves boosts, ODs, phasers, flangers, tremolos and wahs. The ultra-transparent, buffered, series effects loop takes time-based effects pedals and rack units equally well.
