Description

The Gamechanger Audio / Erica Synths Plasma Drive is an innovative distortion module, infusing your music with the power and unpredictability of electricity. This is not a mere rack conversion, but a meticulously designed Eurorack module, born from the collaborative effort of Gamechanger Audio and Erica Synths.

The Plasma Drive stands out with its unique Plasma Technology by Gamechanger Audio. Unlike typical distortion units, the Plasma Drive transforms your audio into a continuous series of high-voltage discharges within a xenon-filled vacuum tube. This process results in a distortion filled with rich harmonics and otherworldly artifacts.

Experience complete control over your tone with the responsive 2-band EQ, which can be quickly toggled during a performance. The module also allows CV control over both distortion and wet-dry blend, giving you the flexibility to shape your sound exactly as you want it.

On top of these, the Plasma Drive offers the additional benefit of octave up/down effects, enhancing your tone with chunky distortions for a more robust sound. The Dry/Wet control is another exciting feature, enabling you to blend tones and achieve a level of articulation that traditional saturation modules can't match.

Erica Synths - Plasma Drive review in Bonedo

ericasynths.lv

The Erica Synths Plasma Drive module delivers a captivating blend of unique design and impressive sound quality, transforming audio into a striking 3000 volts of distortion. While the EQ feature feels unnecessary and could be better utilized for more relevant functions, this module remains a solid choice for those seeking rich, distorted tones in their eurorack setups. Overall, it comes highly recommended for enthusiasts looking to expand their sonic palette, despite a few minor drawbacks.

I love pedals, period. I have over 100 in total, I think; there’s stuff that I probably don’t even know I own (laughs). My favorite is right now is the Eventide H9, it’s so diverse and the quality of the effects is amazing. I also really like the Electro-Harmonix Talking Machine. And I’ll usually collect anything that Jack White uses, all his limited edition stuff like the Gamechanger Audio Plasma Coil.
