Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Hartke HA3500 Bass Amplifier.

Comparisons

    Source
  • Owners suggest the HA3500 is versatile like a Swiss army knife, adequate for most needs but not exceptional in any specific area.

    Source

    Source

  • The amp's tone is fundamentally shaped by the cabinet and bass pickups, as the solid-state preamp maintains a flat response without EQ.

    Source
  • The HA3500's "tube gain" knob operates a solid-state gain stage rather than affecting the actual tube, which remains clean unless boosted externally.

    Source
  • The graphic EQ allows for a wide range of tone adjustments, although the sound is described as basic by some users.

    Source
  • The amp includes two preamps—solid state and tube—but the tube preamp can be prone to issues not related to the tube itself.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The HA3500 is favored for its versatility, allowing for a defined, clear tone suitable for harmonies and complex bass lines.

    Source
  • Provides sufficient volume and tone versatility for backlining gigs, particularly when paired with a 4x10XL cab.

What do you prefer in it over the Mesas? I mean, other than that prices. I haven't found a Mesa head that I'm blown away by yet, but everyone swears by them. Maybe we've just gotten lucky with other gear!

skylinerr

The m6 i really like it has great punch and distortes well but this just sounds great and I like the aluminium coned speakers

Nice hybrid bass amp

I'm a big fan of the graphic EQ it allows you to do to dial in your tone. Cool lights on it as well. The tube and solid state pre-amp section works well, whether you blend them or isolate them.

Pros- Great hybrid amp, graphic EQ

Cons- Maybe not as powerful as other bass amps out in the marketplace these days as in wattage.

adam_harrison666

Don’t waste your money.

They sound like complete crap. The compressor (one knob) just reduces the volume a little. It has a SS and tube pre that can be blended but they don’t sound much different. I even bought a new 12AX7 tube. Only get this if it’s less than $100 and you have a sansamp or a Darkglass D.I. Because it’s gonna sound like shit.

Die Hardest!

This thing has all the sound, inputs and outputs you need! Tube and solid state drive, tons of power, in a rugged chassis. It's built to last forever.

"I'm using Epiphone guitars because I'm an Epiphone endorsee. I use the Epiphone SG-400 and I convert that into a two string. I have a Hartke amp, a 3500 which has a really snappy, upfront, punchy sound and distorts nicely. It has a nice gain structure in it and a multi-band EQ which I love too. I also have a deal with them too so most of my stuff comes from those two companies. Andrew our guitar player has a Gibson endorsement so uses those guitars and a whole array of funky old pedals something I don't use at all."
