Description

The Ibanez OD-850 Overdrive is a revival of a classic fuzz effect pedal from the late 1970s, specifically crafted for those who crave bold, vintage tones. Although the name might suggest otherwise, this pedal is all about delivering iconic fuzz rather than overdrive. From subtle, gritty textures to roaring fuzz, the OD-850 offers a broad palette of sounds that will inspire any guitarist. Its streamlined 3-knob design makes it simple to shape your sound: the Sustain knob lets you dial in everything from light dirt to endless sustain, while the Tone knob provides a spectrum from smooth warmth to aggressive bite. The Balance knob is key for setting the perfect mix between your fuzz and dry tones.

Ibanez has ensured that your uncolored tone shines through with true bypass switching, making it a reliable companion on any pedalboard. With its vintage Ibanez logo on an eye-catching housing, the OD-850 is not just a pedal but a statement piece for fuzz enthusiasts. Whether you're a seasoned fuzz aficionado or a newcomer looking to explore the world of fuzz, the OD-850 promises to deliver nostalgia and innovation in each riff.

not an overdrive, but a fuzzy distortion

that's right, it's everyone's favorite Japanese big muff knock-off the maxon-made OD-850! Probably the first big muff style pedal to be marketed in a compact box as part of a mainstream pedal line but far from the last... it was joined by many muff-based pedals from DOD and Boss... and a few more from Ibanez in all of their 80s and 90s lines under varying names! This bright orange one is super fun because it always made me think of the smashing pumpkins. one of the more useful early compact Ibanez pedals... I think it was directly replaced by the TS808.
