Perfect for me
I didn't expect how good the distortion from this pedal because it is very affordable.
Let's stop the bull...
Ok, there are a lot of reviews comparing this pedal to the shur riot, promoting it to be as good as the real thing, but let's be realistic, this won't go any closer to it. The distortion is beautiful, but there are many buts. First the output sound is not well balanced. It will work fine if you use it in conjunction with a boutique pedal, I mean, when you balance your signal trough a boutique pedal placed before the Us Dream, the pedal will only distort that "shaped" signal and in this case you could barely hear the difference between the Joyo and the Shur. With that said, I would suggest you to use it with a fine overdrive placed before it or at least an excellent equalizer. To be honest it doesn't fell right when used alone. Second, I would strongly recommend you to feed it with a 12V or even 18V power supply, but this is up to you. Resuming, it's good but don't fool yourself believing on internet reviews. 2 and 1/2 stars.

The suhr riot is not an original design either to the best of my knowledge. I can't remember what 80s classic its based on, but like most boutique pedals, its based on another design with some component and value tweaks. I am sure the joyo is less roadworthy, but how much abuse do pedals take on the road unless you have a heavy foot?
