Description

Introducing the Laney Supergroup LA-Studio, a harmonious blend of vintage tones and modern technology. This guitar amplifier head takes its inspiration from the iconic Laney Supergroup amplifier of 1967, beloved by legends like Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. It's been re-imagined in a studio format, packed with the cutting-edge Two Notes Engineering Torpedo DI module technology, providing the ultimate convenience for home and studio recording.

The Laney Supergroup LA-Studio boasts a Class-AB tube power stage that fires up to 3 watts. However, if you wish for a more subdued output, the onboard brake can be engaged to drop the output to a mere 0.1 watt.

The LA-STUDIO comes equipped with four diverse inputs: Bass Hi, Bass Lo, Treble Hi, and Treble Lo, each offering unique tonal characteristics. The amp also features a wide range of I/O options, including MIDI In/Out/Thru, USB, a balanced XLR output, two ¼" mono speaker outputs, and a headphone jack.

The Two Notes DynIR technology onboard offers six virtual Laney speaker cabinets in different environments, all captured by your choice of a dynamic or ribbon mic. Two more DynIRs are yours upon registering your LA-STUDIO, and more can be obtained from the Two Notes web site.

Key Features:

  • Low Power Class AB Tube power stage

Laney Supergroup LA-Studio head review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The Laney Supergroup LA-Studio is a beautifully crafted amp head that delivers authentic vintage tube tones, ideal for recording and quiet performances. Its embedded Two Notes cabinet emulation technology offers impressive flexibility, allowing guitarists to explore various tonal landscapes without the need for physical cabinets. However, the low power output may limit its use for live shows, making it less suitable for loud gigs. While this amp is a worthy investment for studio work, potential buyers should weigh its limitations against their performance needs.
