Laney TI100 Tony Iommi Head

guitarinteractivemagazine.com

Laney's TI100 Tony Iommi Signature Amplifier Head is a metal powerhouse with crushing tones, courtesy of its eight ECC83 preamp tubes and four 6L6 power tubes. The amp boasts versatility with independent channel controls, offering a range from dynamic cleans to brutal overdrives. Built like a tank, its robust design ensures durability. While its simplicity appeals to many, some might find the lack of modern features like MIDI a downside. Nevertheless, for Iommi fans and metal enthusiasts, it's a superbly built, great-sounding amp at an attractive price.

Laney TI100 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Laney TI100 Tony Iommi Signature Guitar Amplifier Head delivers a powerful punch for metal enthusiasts, boasting massive modern tones and a devilish red glow. While its clean channel leans more towards an AC/DC crunch, its rhythm and lead channels provide aggressive, contemporary sounds suited for Iommi's style. However, the preamp's upper limits could use some restraint, as pushing them results in a less desirable sound. Despite stiff competition at its price point and limited versatility, the TI100 remains a formidable choice for those seeking focused sonic destruction in their tone arsenal.

VERY powerful...

It handles effects nicely both before the amp and in the loop... it took me a while to make my Catalinbread sabra cadabra to work well with it, but once it hit home it was magical for heavy riffing and melodic lead parts!

In this article from Music Radar, when asked "What amps were you using in the early days of Sabbath, around the first album 'Black Sabbath'?" Tony responds, "I switched to Laney because they started up around the same time as us and they're a Birmingham company. To be honest, they offered to give us all this gear when nobody else did. What do you say to that? 'OK!' So I used them."
