Description

Crafted with precision and passion, the Larrivée OM-60 is a testament to Jean Larrivée's enduring legacy in guitar craftsmanship. A cherished member of the Traditional Series, this orchestra model blends classic design with modern innovation. The OM-60 features an enlarged soundhole, which, combined with Larrivée’s proprietary scalloped hybrid bracing, enhances its volume, low-end punch, and midrange presence, making it an acoustic standout.

Constructed with stunning Indian rosewood back and sides and a robust Sitka spruce top, the OM-60 offers a rich, full-bodied sound that’s ideal for both fingerpicking and complex layering. Its neck, a perfect balance between a thin "C" and a chunky "D" shape, ensures effortless playability along the smooth ebony fingerboard. The meticulous handcrafting continues with a hand-carved volute and custom engraved open-back tuners, adding a touch of elegance and tradition.

Whether you're recording in the studio or performing live, the Larrivée OM-60 delivers a sound that cuts through the mix, offering punchy lows, clear mids, and sweet trebles. This guitar is not just an instrument but an experience, embodying the history and artistry that Larrivée has honed over decades.

Great recording acoustic

The OM-60 is much like the OM-9 but the fingerboard extends over the soundhole and the bracing pushes more bass. It was designed for Bluegrassers, but it never caught on because Bluegrassers prefer the dreadnought. It sounds like a dread though, just more focused in the mids. Mahogany back and sides with a sitka spruce top. It records like a dream. All the sound pushes cleanly straight out of the hole. I love it.
