Really good synth, albiet slightly outdated.
I first heard this synth in the portal 2 soundtrack by Mike Morasky. Afterwords I decided to give it a try. I got this synth via a pack of outdated synths on internet archive because Pro-53 was discontinued. Its got a very warm, lovely sound that kinda reminds me of the 80's

has some pretty cool sounds
This has some amazing sounds, but unfortunately in my opinion sounds not similar to the prophet 5 in anyway shape or form, I own a pro one and pro 53 has a really hard time even trying to emulate that, which I would have thought would have been a pretty basic feat, but anyway I think it soudns really cool for lead and pad sounds and is seriously worth punt if you interested in something which loosely sounds like a pro 5

why did they discontinue these?
I will NEVER stop using Pro53. Does it sound like a vintage Prophet? Not really. Kinda sorta enough for certain signature prophet sounds like the cutting saw leads... I really like this plugin for itself though. Its not generic in sound at all when compared to most other virtual analog poly synths. It has a sound and I like that sound and use it a lot. By today's standards its a pretty low CPU hit too.

Nice emulation of the Prophet 5
I really like the way this synthesizer sounds, it gives a nice 1980's vibe. It's a shame it's no longer supported by Native instruments and because it's no longer supported I can't really use it in new projects because it is a 32 bit plug-in. Overall, however, I recommend this plug-in (if you can still find it, that is.)

works fine in 64 bit hosts for me

Now Completely Obsolete to Me....
I used to love PRO-53. It was one of my go-to plugins for years. NI discontinued the plugin several years ago with the policy of "If it continues to work on newer operating systems, we guess you're lucky". Well, Windows 10 is the nemesis of this old faithful standby. It simply will not work with Windows 10 64-bit. I'll miss it.

I worked for a guy with 2 real prophets (and many other great old analog synths, even tb303 and an EMS synthiA) when I was in my early 20s, he NI Pro53 does a fairly solid job of simulating the sequential circuits sound... its really close in the mix
