Part of Utley's studio, as specified in this November 2008 Sound on Sound interview.

For general tone and feel, Adrian Utley has a huge amount of vintage gear, which is pressed into service as often as possible — Neumann and Calrec EQs, Pye, Urei and Teletronix compressors and limiters, a pair of Neve 1272 preamps, Astronic graphic EQs, Vortexion and Binson four–channel mixers — the Vortexion signed by Tom Jones after a session that blew Adrian away with the power of his voice. There's also an Ursa Major Space Station SST–282 from the late '70s, the one with the preset called 'Fatty'.

Neeraj Khajanchi utilized the Neve 1272 preamp during the recording of Miura Daichi's new single "I’m Here," specifically on the track "COLORLESS." Notably, the Neve 1272, with its LO10468/LO1166 transformers and BA283 component, shares similarities with the Neve 1073 but offers a distinct sound and mic preamp behavior. This insight was shared by Neeraj on Twitter.

Rather than running straight to an interface, Abernethy often runs mics through vintage API 512 and Neve 1272 pre’s. “It makes a difference,” he says. “Whether gamers are really paying attention, who knows, but in the long run, the little things do add up.”
