Critic Reviews

Novation Nova

soundonsound.com

The Novation Nova Synthesizer impresses with its compact design and enhanced features, making it a standout in the synth market. While it sacrifices some polyphony and outputs compared to the Supernova, it compensates with new audio inputs and a built-in vocoder, offering unique sound manipulation possibilities. The Nova retains the Supernova's rich sonic capabilities and adds flexibility, making it appealing for DJs and live musicians. However, its non-expandable nature and limited polyphony may deter those needing extensive sound layering. Overall, the Nova is a versatile and affordable alternative with its own distinct appeal.

Presented on Legowelt's official website with dedicated page and audio demo, described as "A fantastic British synthesizer, one of my all time favorites. It uses virtual analog synthesis called ASM or something. I think it was partly designed by the guy who made the old Oxford Synthesizer Company OSCar and EDP wasp synthesizers in the 80s."
