Great entry level tube combo amp for the price. If you find one of these in the used market, GET IT!

I am happy to report that as of April 19th, 2020, the Randall RM50 has been sold to another guitarist. I wanted to take this moment to really acknowledge how important this piece of gear was in the start of my musical journey.

Back in 2015, when I first started out in the University of Waterloo, I was still in my "digital" realm of Zoom G5, and I needed a better amp to amplify my guitar tone. My former bandmates back then suggested that I get a tube amp, and I reluctantly spent around $1000 towards the Randall RM50. Little did I know back then that it'd become one of the most crucial pieces of gear that would stick with me along my musical journey.

This amp has become the definition of my musical developments, in which I've mastered Yngwie Malmsteen's and Dream Theater's songs on this very amp. The tones I got on it were phenomenal for a self-contained 1x12 combo amp, and if there's ever a reason why I never went back to digital modelers, this would be it.

Bruce Egnater really nailed the MTS technology, allowing guitarists to be able to utilize the convenience of being able to use different amp tones in a single amp while retaining the tube dynamics and organic tone. If there ever was a proud predecessor to the more modern Synergy SYN-30 combo amp, this would be it.

Since February of 2020, this amp has been effectively phased out of my rig, replaced by a much more modern rackmount successor that is the Synergy SYN-2 preamp. I cannot be any more proud to have owned this amp for 5 years, and I hope that it will serve its new owner well, just like it did for me.

Let us take a moment to thank Randall Amplification for building this amazing piece of gear to help me through my musical journey.
