Decent amp, solid workhorse

We just bought this amp for our new guitar player, ($170 approx.), and I have to say that it is really a decent amp. Solid state, so maintenance free, two channels with clean in 1 and two gain stages in the other. The clean channel isn't very good, but hey for $170 it does what it's meant to do, the fun part is the gain channels, they have that typical Randall american metal sound, so is not versatile of course, it can get muddy really fast so please turn up the mids (saving the world one review at a time), you're not Metallica playing through a Mesa Triple Rec. The reverb is NOT good, so I just buy a reverb pedal and put it in the FX LOOP (yes it has fx loop, nice...) maybe a Boss RV-5 or RV-6, or a Hall of Fame, something nice, even a Holy Grail and you just leave it on forever. The Chorus is not bad at all, but again I wouldn't use chorus outside a Small Clone or a Boss CH or CE or your preferred pedal, but it comes with the package. Also i recommend getting the footswitch, very VERY usefull. Comes with budget Celestion speakers so that a win, also it has extension for a cabs
