Second best parlor-sized single 0 acoustic for under $400

I bought the RPH-05 as my beater, fell in love and then got the RPH-03 to drag around. Its a good size for a travel guitar and has a relatively full sound for its small stature. If your expectation is for this to sound like a full-scale Washburn, of course you'll be disappointed. But they are totally dope for what they are. The satin finish on the neck feels nice and the little details make it look a little more fancy and old-school. These Recording Kings seem fairly consistent in sound as I've picked up every one I've ever seen at the guitar shops, despite already owning one, and never been disappointed.

actually, the original recording king brand was a depression era Gibson-made OEM line for a catalog department store (I forget which store).... Gibson did a lot of that kidna stuff to keep afloat during the depression (they also made wooden toys in Kalamazoo).... so not a a fair comparison to a washie anyway.... also, the Gibson sub-contracted guitars are damned close to actual Gibson models, however Gibson didn't give them adjustable truss rods (or in many instances didn't give them any truss rods at all)

I used "Washburn" as an example of what many consider the standard for a mid-priced, full-size acoustic guitar.
