Critic Reviews

Reveal Sound Spire review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Reveal Sound Spire is a standout debut synth plugin, praised for its powerful waveshaping capabilities and extensive modulation matrix. Musicians will appreciate its flexible oscillators and accessible design, which allow for a vast array of tones beyond typical virtual analogue synths. The synth's dual resonant filters and well-equipped LFOs further enhance its versatility. However, the interface has some quirks, such as difficult menus and incomplete envelope displays, which can be frustrating. Despite these drawbacks, Spire's impressive sound and innovative features make it a worthy investment for producers seeking a dynamic and adaptable tool.

Reveal Sound Spire impresses with its robust feature set and intuitive interface, offering a fluid workflow for sound designers. Its standout aspect is the high-quality tone generated by four expertly coded oscillators, which set a new standard for digital synthesis. The synthesizer’s rich sound palette is complemented by flexible modulation options, including envelopes, LFOs, and step sequencers. Main sound design

As a EDM Producer, it without a doubt that spire is one of the best known virtual synthesizer out there. Nowadays, Spire sound can be found in most of track as it has become part of my workflow during my production.

And also the plugin does not heavily untitled CPU processor which is a plus side especially if you like layering a lot of sound in a track With the v1.5 updated on the sound selection GUI, it makes everything more organized and easier to find the perfect sound for my track.

Great synth plugin

My go-to synth for synthetic sounds in general, plucks in particular. Great for trance.

Main Stream For Bass and Plucks

I was introduced to Spire awhile ago as it was used by most well known producer like Hardwell, Alan Walker, W&W. After play it awhile, I find that the bass and pluck from the default factory bank quite pleasing and it fit most genre in my production. Even so I have planned to get several expansion sound bank to widen my selection.

In addition to that, the recently V1.5 update introduced a more organized library selection interface, I do think it make it much more easier for my to select my the sound that I wish to find. However, one thing i can complete may be the soundbank scanning procedure which may cause your DAW to crash if you are using a average computer configuration.

Just amazing!

This syhthesizer is sounding unique and full. I chosed it over Serum even tho i was aware that Serum has higher sound design potential the warm and clean sound of Spire made me to go with it. Spire filters are amazing in my opinion and you have several choices in this regard (for example virus ti emulation, TB-303 emulation, comb and others). The effects are not bad and i often use them along with external ones. I like the x-comp section which is a good way to add quick multiband compression on your designed sound. The oscillators give you really a lot of possibilities to shape the sound. Its not possible to inject custom wavetables like in Serum but you can chose from included ones and with possibility to FM and hard FM you can get some really interesting sound design patches. This synthesizer is great for Leads, agressive Basslines and lush pads. I recommend it definitely.

The roots of my production

Good ol Spire. My first plugin that used to be all the influences behind my previous work as a Glitch-Hop / Drum & Bass music producer. The plugin is very versatile in making different and unique sounds that work together and overall not being to CPU intensive when running or rendering out.

The plugin itself is a bit outdated with Spire and Massive being the two stealing most of the limelight nowadays, however i feel that if Reveal Sound were to release a major update for Spire in order to compete with the two mainstage plugins they would have to do something amazing with the features, inputs and display of the plugin.

SOUNDS AMAZING

This is one of my favorite VST Synthesizers. It's super easy to use and understand, and you can get a really great sound really fast. What I love most about this synth is the sound quality. It sounds just as good as hardware synthesizers! No joke.

djfriendzone

Sounds fantastic

Great sound, great synth, great people behind it! It has a very crisp yet warm tone to it that is fitting for electronic and includes some great filter types, onboard effects, and presets. Its a bit of a CPU hog though, so be careful when trying to run multiple instances.

gordon_ross

I love Spire

Spire is amazing for trance music production, loads of third party soundbanks available and I particularly like how good the bass and lead presets sound.

Reveal Sound Spire Synthesizer Plugin

Spire was the first software synthesizer developed by Reveal Sound. The synthesizer utilizes multipurpose oscillators, filters, and effects units within a digital graphic interface. Spire combines elements from both Analog and software synthesizers. The synthesizer utilizes wavetable synthesis. The software can be run by itself or within a digital audio workstation. The plugin has been used almost exclusively in dance music.
