Description

The Smeck model pays tribute to the Roy Smeck signature Gibson model, a Hawaiian guitar turned standard. This puts the 12th fret right at the body and moving the soundhole and bracing lower on the body than you'd find on most slope-shouldered dreadnoughts.

The sunburst finish on this is gorgeous, with figuring on the back and sides. The ivory tuners and fit and finish of this tell you from the second you see it that countless hours of personal attention to detail have gone into its construction.

The body is 4.75" deep and 16.25" wide at the widest point of the lower bout. It has a big, open sound that is particularly inspiring when tuned down or in an open tuning.

So our brothers at Rockbridge Guitar out of Charlottesville, Virgina made this one and brought it to the show. They brought a few of them and this one really struck my fancy. It’s the Smeck model. Real short neck, but it just really projects and puts out a lot of sound. I just fell in love with the guitar as soon as I played it.
