Critic Reviews

Sequential Pro 3 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Sequential Pro-3 is a sonic powerhouse that excels in sound design with a warm, distinctive tone and a plethora of features. Its robust build quality and intuitive interface make it a joy to use. However, the SE version's weight may deter some users, and the firm knobs might take some getting used to. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Pro-3's versatility and exceptional modulation capabilities solidify its status as a standout monosynth in today's market.

positive

Sequential Pro 3 - a new benchmark for raw sonic power - GreatSynthesizers

greatsynthesizers.com

The Sequential Pro-3 is a powerhouse of sonic versatility, blending analog warmth with modern features like wavetable synthesis and a robust sequencer. It excels in sound design and performance, providing intuitive operation that appeals to both beginners and seasoned musicians. However, while it's a significant leap forward from its predecessor, some may find it lacks the pure vintage character of the Pro-One. A notable absence of a dedicated gate input limits its integration with external setups. These minor quirks don't overshadow its overall brilliance, making the Pro-3 a highly recommendable addition for synth enthusiasts seeking depth and flexibility in their soundscapes.

positive

Sonic LAB: Sequential Pro 3 Synthesizer

sonicstate.com

The Sequential Pro-3 synthesizer delivers a rich sonic experience with its powerful VCOs and versatile wavetable oscillator, offering a delightful range of tonal possibilities. Its build quality is robust, featuring a smooth keybed and intuitive layout. However, the reviewer notes some limitations in routing options and the somewhat wild "Grunge" effect may not appeal to all. While the sequencer is a step up from previous models, the lack of real-time note recording is a missed opportunity. Ultimately, the Pro-3 stands out as a formidable flagship mono-synth, but it could have benefited from a few enhancements for even greater flexibility.

Nice Synth

Very Versatile to explore sounds. Nice Mod Matrix and Step Sequencer. Very Nice analog Sound, but you have to dive deeper and the factory presets aren't usefull.

william_henley

Fun, useful and expressive monosynth

I purchased the Pro-3 because I wanted to replace a couple of analog monosynths with something that had patch memory. What I got not only fit the bill perfectly for that, it is also an absolute blast to play. I strongly recommend it.
