The Walrus Audio Highpoint Optical Compressor is your pedalboard's answer to studio-grade compression. Bringing the precision of high-end studio equipment into a compact stompbox, the Highpoint is designed for musicians who demand clarity and depth in their sound. It offers an analog optical compression experience that enhances sustain, ensures articulate transient response, and provides a smooth attack and release curve. Whether you're aiming for subtle dynamic control or expressive sustain, this pedal will respond with the warmth and dimensionality of premium studio hardware.

What sets the Highpoint apart is its 10-LED metering array, which provides real-time insights into your signal's behavior, mimicking the functionality of a console-style LED VU meter. This feature, combined with a comprehensive control set—including dedicated Threshold, Ratio, Attack, and Release knobs—allows you to fine-tune your compression with precision. The Blend control facilitates true parallel compression, preserving the integrity of your transients while adding harmonic richness.

Internally, the Highpoint operates at ±15VDC, delivering increased headroom and dynamic range, ensuring your signal remains clear and authoritative even under aggressive settings. Additionally, the selectable High-Pass Filter in the sidechain circuit ensures your low-end remains tight and controlled, making it ideal for both bass guitars and extended-range electric guitars.
