Walrus Audio Julia Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

Walrus Audio's Julia chorus pedal is a standout, blending classic chorus tones with innovative features that appeal to both traditionalists and modern players. Its true analog circuitry delivers rich, harmonious sounds, while the unique lag and wave toggles allow for both subtle and bold effects. The standout feature is the mix control, enabling seamless transitions from chorus to vibrato, offering versatility often missing in other pedals. Review: Walrus Audio Julia Analog Chorus/Vibrato V2

guitar.com

Walrus Audio’s Julia V2 Analog Chorus/Vibrato pedal impresses with its exceptional sound quality and robust build. Its fully analog circuitry, featuring customizable rate, depth, and waveform options, ensures a versatile and organic chorus experience. The pedal is praised for avoiding the typical wateriness of lesser units, delivering both subtle and extreme settings with musicality. While the vibrato section may push into less usable territory at deeper settings, the Julia V2 offers more versatility than average chorus pedals. Its user-friendly features, like the lag knob and rate LED, enhance its appeal, making it a great addition to any pedalboard.

It’s a really great, brightly toned chorus/vibrato pedal. The blending capability is so amazing. Most chorus/vibrato pedals are either or. Julia lets you get everything in between. I just wish it had a tone knob to roll back to get some darker, warbly tones. For that I'll have to keep using my EHX Eddy. If I could somehow combine these two pedals...hmmm! 4.75!

nice, very nice

Probably 4.5 stars. A great pedal. The lag which lets you set the how far apart the waves are and the D-C-V (dry - chorus - vibrator) control are what separate this from other choruses. It lets you dial in things that are strictly chorus or strictly vibe, but there's that whole continuum between the two where the magic lives. Really good to deepen up the sound when you set the lag at a low level and the D-C-V just a bit more into the V than the C. I can't say enough about how well this pedal works.

The lights are blinding bright though so tape over them if needed.

So deeply sweet and lots of vibe!

Out of every chorus/vibrato pedal I've tried, I liked this one the most. Being able to go smoothly from dry to chorus, and from chorus tu vibrato, plus de lag knob, makes this super versatile! Lots of reachable tones, from subtle chorusing back in the mix to deeply swirly and under water whirls that can just take over the whole sound. Simply. Lovely.

Shallow waters

I don't believe there are people who actually heard both Boss CE-2 and Walrus Audio Julia chorus tone and decieded that Julia one is better. People must like that one for it's tweakability and vibrato mode.

Pure beauty

I guess im primed by walrus audio for its artsy stile to present their pedals. But f**** yes, this is the most beautiful chorus i played yet! from lush ambient sounds to heavy vibrato. I could sit for hours just letting a settle julia chorus perfecting any note.

Solid Chorus

I really enjoy this pedal. I probably use it more than I should. Love the dry/wet knob. Lag is great dialing in specific sounds.
