Critic Reviews

APX500III Review: Overall I would recommend this guitar to all new acoustic players... | Yamaha | Acoustic Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Yamaha APX500III shines as a budget-friendly acoustic guitar that's durable and well-built, perfect for beginners and casual players. Its narrow body enhances playability, especially for smaller individuals, and the built-in tuner is a handy feature. While the sound can be somewhat muddy compared to pricier models like the Taylor GS Mini, it compensates with reliability and ease of use. Despite using laminate materials, the guitar maintains quality construction and setup, offering great value for the price. Ideal for those seeking a dependable, low-maintenance instrument for open mics or casual playing.

Yamaha APX500III Acoustic-Electric Guitar Review - Beginner Guitar HQ

beginnerguitarhq.com

The Yamaha APX500III is a standout choice for beginners, offering a comfortable thin-line body and reliable electronics at a competitive price. Its clear sound and ease of play make it a popular learning tool, while the unique design adds a bit of flair. However, it sits awkwardly between entry-level and mid-range, so you might find better value slightly above or below its price point. Still, with its solid construction and dynamic tone, it remains a commendable option for aspiring guitarists. If you can find one, it’s worth considering.

Little guitar with pretty big sound!

Bought this guitar when I wanted to transition to more of an acoustic style. Very small and comfortable to play, has a pretty great midrange tone but still feels like an electric to a certain extent. Built-in EQ is fun and it plugs in. Pretty sure it uses a mic, rather than a pickup when you plug it in, but it sounds pretty good without amplification as well.

Yamaha APX500 III Natural

Thin Nato body. Yamaha SRT pick-up. Great for electric players that need an acoustic. VERY inexpensive but sounds great when plugged in.

plays amazing

Great guitar for practice or sitting around with your friends. This guitar is acoustic/electric so you can plug it in too.
