Entry-level digital reverb with useful presets and editing
The R100 was a functional digital reverb that packed a fair amount of programmable reverbs and delays into a 1U half-rack box. As was the trend with many units in the 80s, the top faces of units were screen printed with either circuitry diagrams or patch information which meant that if it displayed anything that was of practical value while the unit was in use, it was counterproductive to be hiding it inside a rack case. The R100 did indeed have its patch list with respective parameters printed on the top of the unit, and it was useful to be able to see it (of course, if you had the manual within reach, problem solved). The sound quality has probably aged a little since the late-1980s (I can't even remember when or why I sold mine), but for its time, it was a worthwhile unit for the budget-conscious recording musician. It had jack inputs for mono send and stereo return, as well as an input for a bypass pedal switch and even MIDI capability. It was powered by a 12vDC wall wart and could be daisy chained to other units in Yamaha's 100 system. http://www.muzines.co.uk/articles/yamaha-studio-100-series/307
