A powerful tool with lots of possibilities and surprisingly good sound
Marine Layer Reverb and Mirror Image Delay in one device, but the difference is that the "time" and "level" knobs have much more power reserve. Here you can get a much greater depth of reverb, from classic to very deep and ambient, and the reflection time of the delay is significantly extended compared to Mirror Image. The "feedback" knob turned all the way down, gives the possibility to get the feedback and oscillation characteristic of the delay with the "time" knob, which was not possible in Mirror Image and which to some extent disqualified it as a full delay. The "kill dry" switch has been abandoned here, but the same effect can be obtained by turning the "level" knobs tight. The palette of sounds has been enriched with three work quality modes for three delays, which in effect gives us 9 different reflection colors. I particularly liked the analog mode in 3 quality, where the sound is very realistic, warm and beautiful saturation. Moreover, with the modulation knobs "rate" and "depth" we can get here nice, distorted and psychedelic sounds. In the reverb part, the knobs behave differently for each type, for example the "level" knob in a type room turned up to 9: 00/10: 00 already gives a lot of reverb power, and at 12:00 the sound becomes very glassy and on borderline "kill dry" The same knob with Type Special turned on at 12:00 only opens the full sound and full space. You just have to learn how to operate the knobs for various types of work in the reverb section. The effect also has a tap tempo, stereo mode, and input for an external expression pedal. It is a pity that you cannot turn off the flickering of the LED diode at the "Tap" switch and it lights up permanently immediately after turning on the device, which may be irritating for some people. All in all, Fender did the homework and replenished Mirror Image's shortcomings, and combined the delay and reverb into a single device, with a very high-class sound, huge power reserve and plenty of possibilities, where everyone can find something for themselves.
