1967 Fender Blackface Bassman 50w Tube Amplifier

jakewildwood.blogspot.com

The 1967 Fender Blackface Bassman 50w Tube Amplifier is a powerhouse vintage gem, offering clean, resonant tones that evoke the classic '60s soundscape. Its robust build and original components, bolstered by a careful restoration, ensure reliability and an authentic sonic experience. While it's designed for bass, its true magic shines when paired with a guitar, providing chimey highs and rich lows. The amp's physical condition is commendable, though minor wear is noted, and the updated 3-prong plug adds modern safety. A few screws missing from the backplate are trivial compared to the overall excellence.

“For amps, Armstrong used a variety of heads and combos. "All of the half-clean/half-dirty tones are a mix of Billie's reissue 100-watt Marshall Super Lead (with a Bob Bradshaw gain mod) and a blackface '64 Fender Bassman head," says Schneider. Both amps run through Marshall 4x12 cabs loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s”

This was used live on the Heart Tour 03’. Serial: A32661 Initially upon testing, the bass side of the amp had quite scratchy pots that would cut in and out. It seems that they just need a simple clean. The amp otherwise appears to be relatively healthy. The chassis is slightly loose inside the cabinet. Missing handle.
