In this Ultimate Guitar forum, Billie’s guitar tech states:
“For amps, Armstrong used a variety of heads and combos. "All of the half-clean/half-dirty tones are a mix of Billie's reissue 100-watt Marshall Super Lead (with a Bob Bradshaw gain mod) and a blackface '64 Fender Bassman head," says Schneider. Both amps run through Marshall 4x12 cabs loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s”
Saw Greta Van Fleet live on their Starcatcher Tour and took this photo where you can see the bassman in the back along with another amp I couldn't identify.
This amplifier was sold on Gilby Clarke’s official Reverb.com shop. The listing’s description stated; “ This Fender Bassman Amp Head is owned by Gilby Clarke. This was used live on the Heart Tour 03’. Serial: A32661 Initially upon testing, the bass side of the amp had quite scratchy pots that would cut in and out. It seems that they just need a simple clean. The amp otherwise appears to be relatively healthy. The chassis is slightly loose inside the cabinet. Missing handle. All items in The Official Gilby Clarke Reverb Shop ship fully insured with delivery confirmation and a signed and embossed Certificate Of Authenticity.”
Tom’s 2014 rig featured a Bassman.
Tom states he currently has a blackface Bassman in his studio.
A photo from the 1970s or 1980s shows Yok Koeswoyo using a 1967 Fender Bassman Amp, as reported by Historia - Majalah Sejarah Populer Pertama di Indonesia in the article "Selamat Tinggal Penyanyi Tua."
