The Vintage C2M Hexacomp Compressor Pedal made in Japan by Akai

The Akai C2M Hexacomp is a distinctive multi-band compressor pedal that effectively combines six independent compressors into a single unit. Unlike traditional compressors that process the entire signal, it splits the input into six frequency bands, allowing precise control over how each range is compressed. This design helps preserve low-end punch while controlling peaks in mids and highs, maintaining overall dynamics. It is especially useful for bassists and experimental players who want detailed tonal shaping beyond standard compression. With its rugged stompbox construction and true bypass switching, it’s built for both studio and live use.
