DOD Phasor 201 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The DOD Phasor 201 reissue is a nostalgic nod to its vintage roots, offering users a warm, analog phaser experience housed in a modern, robust design. Priced under $100, it delivers rich, natural-sounding phasing that complements both clean and distorted tones, making it ideal for players seeking simplicity and quality. However, its minimalist single-knob control might disappoint those craving more customization, and the lack of a battery door could be inconvenient. Despite these minor drawbacks, this pedal is celebrated for its affordability and faithful recreation of the classic DOD sound, making it a steal for vintage tone enthusiasts.

Luke Weiler of Positive Mental Trip loves the simplicity of the 1 knob Phasor. Also a fan of DOD pedals(gonk, Envelope Filter etc.) you can hear the swirl of the phasor 201 Re-issue and also the sounds of the BOSS BF-3 Flanger mixed into 2 different tracks and blended into the mix. December Winds was a b-side off of “The Black and White Album” which was an album recorded and no budget and it was not toured in support of. Both guitar tracks had the 06’ Fulltone OCD > phasor or flanger. The bass tracks on this song were wet as well. 1 bass track uses the Radial LONDON BONES guitar distortion pedal, and another track uses a trippy synth from ZOOM B3 bass multi effects unit.
