Great sound and super responsive unit
Amazing responsiveness on this unit, resonance and sweep have a great range so you can make sound like a mild vintage 2 stage phaser or a space warping 4 stage one. The cycle on the 1 position with rate at minimum is veeeery slow, maybe as slow as the Whetstone, and in 3 position you ALMOST get into ring modulation territory. The 2 position is much more responsive and tone shaping than the Whetstone. Make sure to keep the Depth knob maxed in the 2 position or in any Vibrato mode (acts like master volume). Oh and the blinking LED in tempo with the LFO is the cherry on top of the icing, possibly the most well achieved tempo LED I've ever seen as it fades in and out rather than blinking. Top notch device.

versatile modulation
My heart lies with a good vibe pedal, but after debating I went with this phaser. It easily dives into vibe territory but is also versatile in what it does for my setup. I'll still probably own a vibe someday ;)

“I got this in Akron, Ohio, and it’s actually made by a company based there called EarthQuaker Devices. It’s a phaser, but with a shitload of sounds within it. At the moment, I only use it for isolated chords to get this underwater effect that makes you sick to your stomach!”
At 3:20, Alderete professes his love of this phaser, as it is "The tightest phaser made on the market today", and begins to use it at 3:45.
In the "Making of The Great Dismall" video you can see pedals used by Nicky during recording sessions, and one of them is EQD Grand Orbiter.
