Critic Reviews

Boost Killer Review: It's one of those pedals that the more I play it,... | Donner | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

While the Donner Boost Killer impresses with its sturdy build and compact design, it falls short in versatility, offering a sweet spot mostly below noon on the Gain knob. Its tone shaping capabilities are commendable for a clean or light overdrive, but pushing the pedal past its comfort zone results in muddiness, particularly with single coils. Despite its limitations, the pedal remains a solid, affordable option for those seeking a reliable boost on a budget, though its limited range may leave some players wanting more.

Good value for its purpose

I think this pedal works really well as clean boost. It has a big gain knob and 3 small knobs (bass, treble and volume) if you want to set your EQ. I personally think simple function pedal shouldn't take too much space on board. This will do and for the price it is worth trying.

Can't comment of the build quality yet as I only have it for a month but so far still good. The power jack is made of plastic and might be the weak link of this pedal.
