Fender FA-100 Review 2018 | Fender Does it Again

fineacoustics.com

The Fender FA-100 Acoustic Guitar strikes a chord with beginners for its affordability and playability. At around $140, it offers a decent dreadnought sound, though seasoned players may notice its limitations compared to higher-end models. The factory setup impresses with low action, enhancing playability, but expect to replace the stock strings. While it doesn't compete with $1k guitars, its value as a starter instrument is hard to beat, making it a go-to choice for novices.

Fender FA-100 Acoustic Guitar Review - Beginner Guitar HQ

beginnerguitarhq.com

The Fender FA-100 Acoustic Guitar is a budget-friendly, entry-level instrument, perfect for beginners who want an accessible start without breaking the bank. Its simple design and included bundle make it a convenient choice for first-timers, offering decent playability with low-action strings and a smooth neck. However, its sound, while clear and resonant, lacks the depth and sustain desired by more experienced players. The finish and materials, though acceptable for the price, fall short compared to competitors like Yamaha or Ibanez. It's a functional, no-frills option for new players but not a guitar to grow with long-term.

Can a Cheap Guitar Like the Fender FA-100 Be Any Good? - Guitar Space

guitarspace.org

The Fender FA-100 Acoustic Guitar is an entry-level instrument that offers good value for beginners due to its low price and included accessories. Its build quality is decent, with a tidy neck joint and solid machineheads, but it lacks excitement and premium specs. The sound is serviceable but leans towards a mid-to-low range without much resonance or sustain. Its higher action may be challenging for experienced players but beneficial for strengthening beginner fingers. While not groundbreaking, the FA-100 serves as a functional starter guitar or a backup for casual use, but seasoned players might find it underwhelming.

It's an acoustic, that's for sure

Technically my "first" guitar, even though the one I have now is the second one I've had in my possession, as the first one was sold when I lost interest in it years ago. The one I have now had been sitting in my basement in it's gig bag for a good three years before I finally decided to pick it up and learned to play the opening riff to "One" by Metallica, and I was hooked. I decided that I wanted to pursue this whole guitar playing thing seriously, and I played it almost everyday up until Christmas of 2017 when my dad gave me my ESP, which I've played exclusively on ever since.

I think I'll try taking it out of the bag today and tune it up, should probably get the strings changed too. I'll give it a rating once I've played it a bit.

RE: Even though I didn't replace the strings, the guitar still sounded fine. Quality.

Okay

This guitar I wouldn’t play all the time but it is a backup guitar. Would recommend for traveling or doing things whilst too lazy to plug in an electric guitar.
