Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Fender Jimi Hendrix Sunburst Stratocaster is a fitting tribute to the legendary guitarist, offering a mix of iconic aesthetics and unique tonal advantages at a budget-friendly price. Featuring a reverse headstock and reverse-angle bridge pickup, it delivers a distinct Hendrix-inspired sound that stands out. The American Vintage ’65 pickups are a highlight, providing authentic vintage tones. However, the modern 9.5" fretboard radius might not please purists seeking a true vintage feel. Tuning stability is a minor concern, with some issues similar to other Mexican-made models. Overall, this Stratocaster is a solid choice for those looking to capture Jimi's essence without breaking the bank.

Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Fender Jimi Hendrix Sunburst Stratocaster brilliantly channels the legend’s spirit with its unique design and tone. The reversed bridge pickup and increased string tension offer a sound reminiscent of Hendrix's signature style, making it a joy to play. The guitar's vintage aesthetics, coupled with modern playability, create a compelling package. However, the reverse headstock design makes accessing the tuners tricky, which might frustrate some players. Despite this ergonomic hiccup, the guitar's tuning stability and tonal richness more than compensate, making it a worthy homage to the iconic musician.

"Given to Zappa by a Hendrix roadie, this formerly sunburst Strat was mutilated by Hendrix at the 1968 Miami Pop Festival. Zappa had it hanging on a wall in his basement for years until Rex Bogue put it back together with Zappa-approved electronic delights, such as a Dan Armstrong Green Ringer and a Barcus-Berry contact pickup buried in its original replacement neck! This neck, however, is a fairly new addition, as is the tortoise-shell pickguard." - GuitarPlayer
