The signature Tom DeLonge neck plate and pearloid pickguard add a touch of personal flair, making this guitar not just an instrument, but a statement piece.

Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Fender Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster.

Build quality

  • The neck pocket is tight, but string alignment issues often tie back to an off-center nut, which affects playability.

    Source
  • The 2023 model features a "Limited Edition" ink stamp on the back of the headstock, absent in older models.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • Adjusting neck screws can help align strings; a common issue with bolt-on necks, often needing minor adjustments.

    Source
  • The nut width is 1.650", a standard measurement for MIM Player models, but notably narrow for players with larger hands.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Owners compare 2002 Squiers favorably in craftsmanship over the current model, highlighting better build quality at a lower price point.

    Source
  • Sweetwater provides pre-order customers with exact guitar pictures and serial numbers, allowing for selection based on aesthetics like wood grain.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • The guitar is criticized for its $1,299.99 price, with some suggesting a Player Series price of $879.99 would be fairer given quality concerns.

    Source
  • The 2023 model is seen as overpriced for a hardtail Strat, with some attributing the price to the inclusion of a single Invader pickup.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The bridge has been upgraded from older block saddles to an American standard bridge with full block saddles, enhancing comfort and palm muting.

We Reviewed Fender Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster, Here's What We Thought of It | Ultimate Guitar

ultimate-guitar.com

Fender's Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster impresses with its loud, punchy sound ideal for pop-punk fans, thanks to the Seymour Duncan Invader pickup and effective treble bleed circuit. Its playability is commendable, and the guitar shines in high-gain scenarios. However, the $1300 price tag feels steep given quality control issues reported by some users, such as fret alignment and finish flaws. While Fender's easily modifiable guitars may appeal to some, these issues are problematic in this price range. It's a fun rock instrument for enthusiasts, but potential buyers should be cautious of inconsistencies.

Fender Tom DeLonge Stratocaster review

guitar.com

The Fender Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster is a delightful blast from the past, reissued for the pop-punk aficionados and Blink-182 devotees. It’s a straightforward, no-nonsense guitar with a single Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker that delivers raw, unfiltered punk rock power, embodying the spirit of the late '90s and early 2000s. While not the most versatile instrument, its simplicity is its charm, providing a fun, nostalgic experience. However, the price tag is a bit steep at $1,400, especially when considering the stripped-down features. Still, for those unwilling to modify a cheaper model themselves, this Strat offers a faithful recreation of a pop-punk icon's weapon of choice.

Fender Missed All The Small Things With Their Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster – Guitars For Idiots

guitarsforidiots.com

Fender's Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster hits the nostalgia notes with its beachy colors and punk simplicity, featuring a single Seymour Duncan Invader and treble bleed circuit. It's a blast to play and visually appealing, yet Fender's quality control is under scrutiny, marred by reports of flaws such as glue marks and finish issues on many units. While the guitar offers a powerful sound and versatile tone range, its $1300 price tag feels steep given the manufacturing inconsistencies. Fender's customer service remains a silver lining, but potential buyers should brace for a thorough inspection upon purchase. Overall, it's a player’s guitar that delivers fun, albeit with some reservations.

Fender Limited Edition Tom DeLonge Stratocaster review – nails all the small things | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The Fender Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster is a pop-punk powerhouse that's back and better than ever. With its single Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker and minimalist design, it delivers raw, aggressive tones perfect for powerchord-heavy rock. The guitar's stripped-back features, like the singular volume control with a treble bleed circuit, may not cater to everyone, but they make it an ideal choice for fans of simplicity and power. The wide, flat neck and rosewood fingerboard enhance playability, while the vibrant finish options add visual flair. Overall, it’s a finely-tuned instrument for dedicated punk enthusiasts.

Of course being lefty, and fender hating lefties, i made my own

i made my own replica of the tom delonge strat, being a huge blink 182 fan, it's a must have really... i built it to the same specs as tom's personal ones. It's safe to say that this setup for a strat is one of my favourites!

My Secondary

My latest purchase. As a fan of Tom Delonge and some of his tones, this was a MUST-HAVE for me. I love the feel of a stratocaster, and LOVE the Seymour Duncan pick-ups it has in it. I have a lot of fun with this one.

Cool Guitar

I love this guitar! I have heard some mixed reviews of it in the past when it comes to tuning issues, but I cant complain. I really like the hard-tail bridge and the Seymour Duncan Invader, as well as the basic simplicity of it.
