LIGHT pedal by GameChanger Audio - A completely new type of effect? - Review — SINESQUARES

sinesquares.net

Gamechanger Audio's Light Pedal is a groundbreaking reverb unit that redefines expectations with its innovative use of infrared optical sensors. This analog spring reverb not only offers a rich sound palette but also delivers unique effects like ducking reverb and harmonic shimmer that stand apart from traditional pedals. However, its complex controls and distinct character may not suit everyone, particularly those seeking a conventional reverb sound. While the Light Pedal excels in creativity and sonic exploration, its niche appeal could leave some musicians wanting a more straightforward option. Overall, it's a testament to visionary engineering that inspires, though it may not be the go-to choice for all.

Gamechanger Audio LIGHT Pedal Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

Gamechanger Audio's Light Pedal offers a unique take on spring reverb, delivering deep, immersive sounds and a plethora of intriguing textures. Its innovative use of optical sensors alongside traditional transducers allows for a versatile range of effects, from nostalgic vintage tones to radical sonic explorations. However, the absence of decay control can frustrate users seeking precise soundscapes, and the highly interactive controls may complicate finding specific tones. While it may not fully replicate a vintage reverb tank's spaciousness, the Light Pedal is a compelling choice for those eager to explore new aural territories.

Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal

soundonsound.com

The Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal offers a unique twist on traditional spring reverb, blending vintage charm with innovative optical sensor technology. Musicians will appreciate its wide range of sounds and expressive capabilities, especially with the expression pedal integration for creative modulation. However, the lack of stereo output limits its versatility. Still, the Light Pedal shines in both subtle and chaotic settings, making it a compelling choice for those looking to explore new sonic territories. If you're after unique reverb effects, this pedal is definitely worth considering—just be prepared to wrestle with its more experimental modes.

Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal review: is this analogue spring reverb reinvented?

guitar.com

The Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal offers a unique twist on classic spring reverb with innovative infrared sensors that enhance its versatility. While it delivers lush, ambient sounds and engaging modulation, its hefty build and occasional noise in bypass may deter some users. The pedal excels in creative modes, allowing for exciting experimentation, but it can be prone to dramatic feedback if mishandled. Overall, it’s a compelling choice for those seeking something beyond traditional reverb, but be prepared for a steep learning curve and a bit of unpredictability.

always on

I looove this pedal! Great build, excellent quality. Generally I keep it on the feedback or the harmoncs setting but they are all good. On some songs I remove the dry signal completley and you end up with a pure wet sound that is eery and otherworldly.
