A quintessential ambient reverb
Cavernous, cold and pristine is how I would describe this pedal. The cover art really does it justice.
Despite having 6 knobs and a mode selector, this is a surprisingly simple pedal once you familiarize yourself with the controls. Another reason why it’s relatively simple to operate is because it’s kind of a one trick pony, because no matter what adjustments you come up with, the sonic character is still the same. The only way you can make it sound weird and really unique is with an expression pedal or specially something like an expression ramper. Speaking of expression rampers, using the OBNE expression ramper you can set up a triangle wave, put the drag at the minimum setting and use the unquantized modes (the first 3 modes) for a modulated vibrato sound kinda similar to the dream setting on the Walrus Slö. Alternatively you can use it with the other quantized modes for a sequencer like, glitchy sound which is the most experimental you can get with this pedal.
All in all, It’s a beautiful one trick pony, and because it’s a relatively simple (but curiously unique) pedal, it can be more versatile than you might think but its uses are relegated to ambient, shoegaze and more experimental genres, it’s not gonna work as an always on reverb and it’s definitely not gonna be your workhorse reverb. Overall, I really dig this pedal. It might not do a lot but what it does, it does mesmerizingly good.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Run in before dirt for some ethereal a la Godspeed You! Black Emperor. After dirt for ambient and huge washes of ice cold reverb.
This reverb can get pretty bright so be generous with the dampen control. I strongly recommend getting an OBNE expression ramper to really unlock all the potential of this pedal.

A Godsend for reverb freaks
Reverb is my favorite effect, and at times I want something that pushes all boundaries of good sense. In the past I had to chain several digital effects units together with cranked hall settings to get anything approaching what this pedal does in a Boss-sized footprint.
Like all Earthquaker pedals, it can be a bit cantankerous and unpredictable, but if you like borderline infinite reverb trails, this is the gold standard. Definitely not an always on background reverb; this is as in your face as it gets, and I can’t live without it.

Just got it but I absolutely love it. Inspiration machine.
This pedal is just cool and unique. I've been inspired since I heard it in a demo and as soon as it arrived, I wrote a song right away. This thing is sick. Might be my favorite reverb pedal ever.

Favorite Reverb Pedal
I've got a CME Exclusive version of this pedal with a red/black color scheme, its super unique. Maybe one of the best reverbs in the game right now, it's got simple reverb, but you can go all the way up to cavernous, mystical reverb sounds.

Stunning reverb pedal
Sound of Afterneath V3 is sooo beautiful. I give 5 stars only this sound. In addition, you can change really easily toggle switch as usual pedals or momentarily switch. It also has knob for change reverb modulation harmonics mode and input port for expression pedal.

“EarthQuaker effects are a creators’ pedal company, the nuance and attention to detail really puts you in control of the effects as opposed to the other way around. I have Plumes and Afterneath on my board at every show. I love how they play off of each other. I really love gear that inspires, and I can write a new riff or song every time I put an EarthQuaker effect in my chain. ”
