Description

The Jackson Pro Series Signature Lee Malia LM-87 is a guitar that embodies the dynamic energy of modern metal, designed in collaboration with the renowned Bring Me The Horizon guitarist, Lee Malia. This electric guitar is a blend of vintage aesthetics and contemporary performance, perfect for players who demand versatility and style. Its distinctive offset Outcaster body shape, crafted from okoume, offers a lightweight yet resonant experience reminiscent of classic maple tones, while the amaranth fingerboard ensures a lively projection and sustain.

The custom Jackson signature pickups, which include an LM-87 humbucker and a P-90, are engineered to cover a wide sonic palette. These pickups provide everything from searing hot leads to warm, vintage-like cleans. The push-pull coil-split feature on the bridge humbucker adds flexibility, allowing guitarists to explore a range of tones effortlessly. The 3-piece okoume neck, reinforced with graphite rods, ensures stability and reduces neck dive, making it perfect for rigorous touring schedules.

A compound 12–16 inch radius fretboard supports both complex chord work and rapid solos, while the D-shaped neck profile offers comfort and speed. The TOM-style bridge with fine tuners and locking tuners ensure your tuning remains rock-solid, even under the most intense playing conditions. This guitar is more than a signature model; it's a tool for creative expression and high-octane performances.

In this video, Lee Malia discusses his signature LM-87 guitar from Jackson. He says:

So the inspiration behind this is I've always liked offset guitars, I've played them for a while now. I saw a picture of an old Surfcaster that Charvel made, and then I spoke to Jackson to see if they could make me a one-off Jackson version. Mike Shannon built me a couple of one-off versions of this, basically, and they were like perfect. It was that easy, he got it right the first time.

The looks and stuff, I kind of like guitars that don't just appeal to metal players and stuff like that. That's why I like the P-90 and the humbucker not being super hot like an EMG or an active pickup because I like that you can do a lot of different tones with these pickups. And then a pretty classic build like scale-length wise and neck thickness and stuff. Nothing too crazy.
